Why the 12V 100Ah is the volume standard

A 100 Ah deep-cycle battery at 12 V gives 1,280 Wh — the size that fits standard Group 31 / Group 100 battery boxes, and the capacity that balances solar input, inverter output and inverter charge current in off-grid systems. It is the single most ordered capacity in RV, marine and solar backup, which is why we keep it on the floor as a finished-goods item rather than building to order.

Drop-in replacement checklist

  • Confirm terminal polarity and position match your existing SLA/AGM battery.
  • Confirm the battery box holds the lithium unit — lithium is about 70% lighter, so a smaller box is usually acceptable.
  • Replace the charger or select the lithium profile on your inverter. A lead-acid charger will over-charge a LiFePO4 pack.
  • Do not mix lithium and lead-acid in the same series string.
  • Verify maximum parallel units with us before running 3 or 4 in parallel.

Where 12V 100Ah packs are used

  • Solar home backup — paired with 1–3 kW hybrid inverters for load-shedding backup
  • RV and camper van — house bank running fridges, lighting and inverters off the alternator
  • Marine — house bank on boats and yachts; no acid spillage, no water topping up
  • Telecom and small UPS — 19-inch or wall-mounted racks with CAN monitoring
  • Forklifts, floor machines, golf carts — traction duty in 48V systems built from 4 units in series

Buyer FAQ

12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery — Questions We Get Asked

What is the difference between a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery and a 100Ah lead-acid battery?

The nominal voltage and the Ah rating are identical (12.8 V / 100 Ah), so the wiring and the battery box stay the same. The differences are weight and life: the LiFePO4 pack is about 70% lighter at 31 kg versus 100 kg, lasts 3,000+ cycles instead of 400–700, charges without absorbing water, and keeps a flatter discharge voltage through the whole discharge. The one incompatibility is the charger — you need a lithium profile, not a lead-acid charge curve.

Will a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery work with my existing lead-acid charger?

Not with a fixed-voltage lead-acid charger. LiFePO4 needs a 14.4–14.6 V absorption stage and a properly terminated charge; many lead-acid chargers hold the pack above 15 V and will damage the BMS. Use a lithium charger, or set the inverter to its lithium profile. Many modern inverters auto-detect, but confirm before first charge.

How many 12V 100Ah batteries can I run in parallel?

Up to 4 units in parallel (51.2 V, 400 Ah, 5.12 kWh) on a matched group of the same model, age and state of charge. Do not mix capacities, brands or batches in one parallel string. For higher capacity in a single string, series-parallel to 48 V and size your inverter accordingly.

How long does a 12V 100Ah battery last in a solar or backup application?

Rated 3,000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which is roughly 8–10 years of daily cycling in a solar or critical-backup duty. As a pure standby reserve cycled a few times a week it will run considerably longer. Actual life depends on temperature — sustained charging below 0 °C or above 45 °C shortens it fastest.

Do you ship 12V 100Ah batteries internationally, and what documents come with them?

Yes. Each unit ships with an UN38.3 test summary, MSDS, CE and IEC62619 declarations, and a dangerous-goods packing kit for sea or air freight. Lithium batteries move under UN3480 class 9 and need the DG declaration — we prepare the paperwork before loading. MOQ is 10 pcs and container pricing improves from 100 pcs.
